TikTok has just changed its privacy policy: recently, the social network allows itself to collect the biometric data of its users
Sky world news / TikTok has just changed its privacy policy: recently, the social network allows itself to collect the biometric data of its users.
These changes appear in a new section “Image and audio information” under the heading “Information We Collect Automatically”.
The first part explains that TikTok could retrieve images and audios posted by its users, "identify the objects and decorations that appear, the existence and location in the image, the features and attributes of the face and body," the nature of the audio and the text of the words spoken in your content ”.
Although this may appeal to more than one user, this kind of data is already collected by other social networks like Instagram.
According to TikTok, the goal is to improve "special effects, moderation, demographic classification, personalized advertisements and recommendations and other non-personal operations".
The other part of this update concerns the biometric data of users.
"We can retrieve the data and biometric information defined by US laws, such as facial recognition and voice print from user content," reads the new section.
