Maybe you can't tolerate your nail polish

Sky world news / Maybe you can't tolerate your nail polish Itchy nose, itchy neck, itchy throat or itchy penis?

Maybe you can't tolerate your nail polish and have developed contact dermatitis? Don't panic, organic nail polishes offer you alternatives, to test with the arrival of the holidays .

Recognized allergies According to a recent study by the British Dermatologists Association, the main cause of allergies to nail polish is metacrylates, acrylic compounds present on false nails, semi-permanent varnish and gel varnish but also used in certain dental and surgical treatments.

The allergy can start with redness at the fingertips, softening of the nails or irritation of the mucous membranes: remove the varnish at the first appearance of symptoms! With classic outfit nail polishes, more and more allergies are also being diagnosed.

Four allergens have been identified: formalin, toluene, rosin and nickel (the latter not yet officially recognized as an allergen).

To these, we can add camphor, which in high doses can cause headaches and asthmatic reactions.

A public health problem: endocrine disruptors Car paints are said to have inspired the great varnish manufacturers.

What to wonder about their compositions! The metacrylates mentioned above, dibutylphthalate, used to increase the lubricity of varnishes, as well as parabens (preservatives) are all identified as potent endocrine disruptors.

We know that they are partly responsible for the development of certain cancers.

However, they are present in the majority of varnishes on the market, but today there are ways to identify them and therefore to avoid them.

Less harmful alternatives: “organic” only? To considerably reduce the toxic effects of varnishes on health, and in addition to the sticky "nail patches" and the application of varnish on the nails on the feet only (less in contact with the mucous membranes), there are organic varnishes! About ten brands have attacked this market, but does 100% organic varnish exist? According to the Ecocert Charter, to obtain the "organic" designation, a product must contain at least 95% natural components.

However, even the best varnishes do not reach more than 85%.

We will therefore rather speak of "natural" nail polish. The varnishes of the Zoya brand (wide range of colors), the Boho brand (available in certain supermarkets) and those of the Kure Bazaar brand (nevertheless controversial by certain analyzes) seem to gain the favor of the majority of Internet users who have them.

tested, in the same way as the varnish “Vegetable color” and the “Gel effect lacquer” of the Yves Rocher brand.

As for the solvent, very allergenic in addition to being flammable, the Priti NY brand offers a soy-based version that can be suitable for the most reactive skin, and the Innoxa brand, widely distributed in pharmacies, has just released a new one.

range of "Good nature" products with "Bio-based dissolving oil" based on sweet almond oil, 98% of the ingredients of which are of natural origin.

Children's brands What parent has not found their children's fingernails scribbled in felt-tip pen or nail polish? Nail polish often makes little girls do stupid things, who also frequently put their fingers to their mouths.

No need to remember the importance of choosing for them, or leaving good products lying around in your makeup bag! Aware of the risk for the youngest, some brands have developed nail polish without solvents, cleanable with soapy water: Scotch Naturals or Nailmatic for example.

Some negative points, however: their rendering is not very homogeneous and their hold of short duration, especially if you wash your hands often. Just great fun with the kids.
